Probate and bereavement clearance

Clearing the home of someone who has died is one of the harder jobs a family faces. We take the practical weight of it off you, carefully and without rushing.

A careful, unhurried approach

There is no good time to empty a parent’s or partner’s house. We try to make the practical side as gentle as possible: we go slowly through anything personal, hand back what matters, and keep you informed rather than making decisions on your behalf.

If family members are spread out or dealing with the estate from a distance, we can work from a keyholder and keep everything documented and photographed as we go.

What we set aside for the family

  • Photographs, albums and letters
  • Documents, certificates and financial paperwork
  • Jewellery, watches and small valuables
  • Anything you have specifically asked us to look out for
  • Items you have marked to be kept or collected

Working with executors and solicitors

We are used to working alongside executors, solicitors and estate agents, and to timescales set by a sale or a grant of probate. We can provide a written quote for the estate’s records and coordinate access with agents where needed.

  • Written quotes suitable for estate records
  • Coordination with solicitors, executors and agents
  • Clearance timed around a sale or completion date
  • Waste transfer documentation provided

Items of value

If there are items you think may be worth something, tell us before we start and set them aside. We are a clearance company rather than a valuer, so anything potentially valuable should be looked at by an appropriate specialist rather than cleared on assumption.
